Show home now open at Quality Groves Development in York
The show home is now open at St John’s Mews, a quality residential development on the site of the former Grove House care home in Penley’s Grove Street, York.
Paul Brown, director of Caedmon Homes commented: “We are very pleased to announce that our state-of-the-art show home is now open at St John’s Mews. Viewing is by appointment. The show home gives would-be purchasers the perfect opportunity to appreciate the quality of design, build and interior fittings of our development.
“Following a very busy launch weekend, reservations are already being taken. We are delighted with the response. We’ve had some tremendously positive reaction to the location, the views – with York Minster as a backdrop – and the community feel of the neighbourhood,” said Mr Brown.
He added: “We are extremely proud of very exciting development, which will add to the excellent reputation of the Groves as one of the city’s most popular residential areas. We believe it will be especially attractive to first-time buyers, who are hoping to get a foothold on to the property ladder and to couples or people looking to downsize or retire.”
Anne Haggas of marketing agents Savills in York said: “This is one of the most exciting new residential developments in York, boasting a winning combination of affordability, stunning views of York city centre and the Minster and high-quality, well-designed buildings with superbly fitted-out interiors. We are extremely excited to be marketing this development – and are very pleased by the response so far”.
Mr Brown added: “The affordability of the homes is a very important element of this project and, with the Government’s Help to Buy initiative, we trust that a number of young professionals will be able to become home-owners for the first time,” said Mr Brown.
York was recently named “the best place to live in Britain” by The Sunday Times due to its “perfect mix of heritage and hi-tech”.
The newspaper described it as a “mini-metropolis with cool cafes, destination restaurants, innovative companies - plus the fastest internet in Britain”.
Places were ranked on factors including jobs, schools, local shops and broadband speed.
“This was an exceptionally encouraging report,” said Mr Brown, “although it did confirm what many of who love this city already knew.”
