Opticians in Oldham boosts customer services with £80,000 refit
A LOCAL opticians is currently completing a major store expansion, representing a £80,000 investment into Oldham’s community healthcare provision.
The store’s investment includes the state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology, The Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine. Usually found in hospital eye departments, the equipment is used for a variety of functions, including screening and management of conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
The expansion of Specsavers, located on Curzon Street, will allow more eye health and hearing services to be offered to customers than ever before. To help with the increase in customer demand, the store is expanding the number of sight testing rooms from five to six, with two team members recently qualifying as Dispensing Opticians.
The growing demand for audiology services also means the Oldham store’s new equipment will see it offer an enhanced hearing service, supported by the store’s team of trained audiologists.
This investment in new facilities, people and technology will also further enhance the store’s capability.
Catherine Hughes, store director at Specsavers Oldham & Royton, says: ’This expansion is a proud milestone for our team, and has only been made possible by the loyal support of the Oldham community over the years. ’The decision to invest in our store supports our growing business needs and has been carefully planned to ensure that we offer the best possible service to our customers.
‘With increased appointments, shorter waiting times, and improved technology, we’re really proud of the changes that we’re making to the store. The entire team is excited for our loyal customers to experience the changes for themselves, whilst welcoming new customers through the door.’
