30-Year-Old Nottinghamshire Businessman Preparing for Major Business Awards
There’s just one month to go until the 2019 bfa HSBC Franchise Awards begins. Held at The Vox, Birmingham, on the 27th of June, franchisee and franchisor finalists will come together and celebrate the best in business.
Daryl Perkins, Franchisee for greetings card supplier Card Connection Nottingham, as well as owning other Card Connection territories in Lincoln, Peterborough, and Hull, has been shortlisted for Young Franchisee of the Year accolade.
A prestigious award for franchisees under 35, Young Franchisee of the Year has been split into male and female categories this year due to the vast amount of entrants that have shown to have exceeded within the franchising industry, as record statistics have shown a record number of millennials owning franchises, with 18% of all franchisees now being under the age of 30.
Daryl is ecstatic to have been announced as a finalist, and has found the journey from Budgens Manager to a bfa nominated franchisee very special.
He says: “To be named as a national finalist for such a prestigious award is really fantastic, I am so chuffed! I have worked hard over the past six years to nurture relationships with retail customers and to build a solid franchise business throughout this time.”
The event, hosted by the British Franchise Association (bfa), recognises those in franchising who have shown exceptional business acumen and success.
Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association, stated: “To see the amazing work Daryl has achieved over the last six years as owner of the Nottingham Card Connection is fantastic, and to take on new territories shows his commitment to growing his portfolio” “He has shown genuine passion and love for what he does and truly shows what being a franchisee is all about - following your dreams to becoming your own boss.”
Daryl will compete against two others for the Young Male Franchisee of the Year accolade – one from Snap-on Tools, a company that sells tools to work people, the other ActionCOACH, which gives business coaching.
