Gateshead building merchant opens latest site in Rotherham
James Burrell Builders Merchant has opened its 10th branch in Rotherham.
Local mayor, Cllr Jenny Andrews was welcomed to the new site for an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The new site of 2.5 acres features facilities including; a 264 sq m office and trade counter area, 28,000 sq ft of warehouse, multiple on-site vehicles and brings 15 new jobs to the area.
The facilities allow for the branch to stock various ranges of civils, timber, insulation and heavyside materials and to further enhance its customer offering in the Yorkshire area.
Cllr Jenny Andrews said: ‘I’m really passionate about developments happening in Rotherham, so it is fantastic to see such an established builders’ merchant bring their service to the town and I know James Burrell is going to be a fantastic addition to our business community.“
The opening of the new site follows a wave of investment for the family-owned company, with £250k pumped into the existing Ossett branch to provide a new trade counter and office space, a renovation of their Blyth site and a brand-new branch in Morpeth.
Richard Day, regional sales manager at James Burrell, added: “It’s a really exciting time for James Burrell with us opening our most southern branch and showcasing our reliable service to the Rotherham and South Yorkshire building trade.”
