Local audiologists hosts awareness day at Sale Golf Club
A LOCAL audiologists in Sale lent an ear to help raise awareness of the importance of hearing at Sale Golf Club.
The team at Specsavers in Sale demonstrated its specialist audiology services at a golfing event on 12 June, to raise awareness of the impact of hearing loss.
With research showing that one in six of the UK population are affected by hearing loss[i], audiology professionals from Specsavers in Sale offered free hearing screenings and ear wax removal. Team members were also on hand to answer any hearing related questions.
Anum Saleemi, audiology director at Specsavers Sale, says: ’The event was a great opportunity for us to help the local community understand more about the ear and how important it is to take care of your hearing.
‘According to Action on Hearing Loss, by 2035, 20% of the population will have some form of hearing loss and despite its prevalence, hearing tests are often overlooked by people when it comes to their health routine.’
