Explore Learning Founder Named Top UK CEO

Bill Mills the CEO of Explore Learning has appeared on the Top CEO 2019 list for the UK, with an impressive Glassdoor rating of 90 per cent. Across the approximately 900,000 employers reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 69 per cent.

Glassdoor is one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites and its annual report recognises the Top CEOs, highlighting top leaders employees love working for in countries throughout North America and parts of Europe.

This past year has seen Explore Learning face new challenges, and so new approaches to ensure staff are engaged and motivated are continuingly being looked into. New staffing models are being trialed and a brand new employee benefits package is being developed.

Explore Learning was launched in 2001 by Chief Executive, Bill Mills, who is still very-much hands on. The company provides English and maths tuition to children aged four to 14, working closely with local communities, schools and libraries. They have 145 centres across the UK.

Mr Mills received the impressive approval rating based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews Explore Learning employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year.

Bill Mills, CEO and Founder of Explore Learning says: “I’m committed to exploring how best we meet the aspirations of our staff; their professional growth, career progression and work life balance. Getting these right will be increasingly difficult, but we are continuing to use our employee feedback to guide us. I am thrilled to have rated so highly on Glassdoor and feel honoured to have made it into the top 50.”

When employees submit reviews about their company on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and other workplace attributes like senior management. As part of these ratings, employees are also asked to rate whether they approve, disapprove or are neutral about the job their CEO is doing.

Explore Learning currently has 145 centres across the UK in 2014 opened its first international centre in America, under the name ‘Explore Horizons.’ The business now has six US centres in Dallas.
