Local housebuilder supports Veteran Charity Show with community funding initiative

To celebrate Armed Forces Day which takes place on Saturday 29th June, local housebuilder, Barratt Homes North East, is supporting The North East Veterans Charity Show in Spennymoor, as part of its Community Fund initiative. The scheme allows the housebuilder to donate up to £1,000 every month to a community group or charity across the North East region, in the effort to provide ongoing support to local causes. The housebuilder’s £1,000 donation will be going directly towards The North East Veterans Charity Show, which is taking place on Sunday 21st July at Misty Blue Farm in Spennymoor, close by to Barratt Homes’ Burton Woods and Merrington Park developments, in aid of Help for Heroes.

Featuring appearances from HM Armed Forces, Cadet Forces, Durham Police, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue, Police and Fire Cadets, as well as a whole host of trade stalls and funfair rides for children, the local family event aims to celebrate Armed Forces Day as well as raise money towards the Help for Heroes charity.

Christie Edge, Sales Manager at Barratt Homes’ Burton Woods development, commented: “We are delighted to utilise our Community Fund initiative to support such worthwhile causes close to our developments around the North East region. It’s a pleasure to be donating this month’s fund to the North East Veterans Charity Show, and we wish Rob the very best of luck in raising money to commemorate Armed Forces Day.”

Speaking on the donation, Rob Tocher, Organiser of The North East Veterans Charity Show, said: “I am extremely grateful to the team at Barratt Homes for their generous donation. As a self-funding event, I very much welcome support and donations from the local community, which is why it’s so great having initiatives such as the Community Fund to help make a difference in the North East.”
