Upside Energy appoints business development director
Energy tech firm, Upside Energy, has appointed Matthew Wapples as its new business development director, tasking him with driving the ambitious firm’s next stage of growth. He will be particularly focused on developing business opportunities in the UK, EU and APAC markets.
Matthew joins at a key time for the business as it builds on a number of significant successes this year, notably a partnership deal with EDF Energy to optimise Anesco’s Clayhill subsidy free hybrid site.
Wapples, an expert in ETRM systems, joins Upside from Openlink having previously held senior roles at both Baringa and E.ON.
Commenting on the appointment, Devrim Celal, chief executive at Upside, said: “Matthew has excellent in-depth experience in energy tech sales whilst being a great cultural fit with our growing business here at Upside.
“We have made a number of key senior appointments this year all geared towards our drive to be the number one energy tech business.”
