RHCV's Northampton team goes the distance
East Midlands Renault Trucks dealer, RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) has marked a successful year of growth, since expanding into Northampton just a year ago, with new customers, three new starters and three promotions.
With a further three sites in Nottingham, Leicester and Alfreton, the business has gone from strength to strength, following its acquisition from Renault Trucks Commercials. The acquisition formed part of RHCV’s strategic plan to extend its services to a wider customer base.
Since the acquisition, RHCV has grown its customer base in the area significantly and as a result, the business has strengthened its 11-strong person team at the site, with a number of hires and promotions, to meet this growth and demand.
Rachel Payne is the Dealer Point Manager, brought in to head up the Northampton site last year. Her unrivalled experience has helped build and grow the business. Over the last 12 months, there have been three other key appointments. 38-year-old, Thomas Long has joined RHCV as a Service Advisor, with a focus on providing a seamless and efficient service to customers, while 19-year-old James Garrard and 17-year-old Harry Fehr joined the team as apprentices.
There has also been a number of promotions in recent months, recognising the talent and hard work of the existing members of staff. Darryl Sartain, who has worked at the site for more than seven years, was promoted from Master Technician to Workshop Foreman and is now responsible for running RHCV’s workshop. Lewis Adams, who had worked at the site for five years and Piotr Walendziak, who has worked at the site for two years, were also promoted to Shift Supervisors.
RHCV has also enhanced its used trucks sales service over the last 12 months, which is now fully operational from the Northampton site. Sales Executive, Richard Ware has moved from Nottingham to head up the service.
Rachel said: “Since opening just 12 months ago, the team has been incredibly driven to deliver excellent results. As a result, we have been able to make new appointments and promotions. The response from customers has been great, with many choosing to return to use our services again and again.”
RHCV’s determination to provide an excellent customer service also saw the team recognised at the national business awards within its sector, when it was awarded the prestigious Franchised Dealer of the Year Award at the Commercial Motor Awards. Additionally, for the third year running, RHCV was proud to win Sales Dealer of the Year and Dealer of the Year at the annual Renault Trucks Dealer Awards at Manchester, beating 60 other competitors from across the UK and Ireland.
Paul Pearson, Commercial Director at RHCV, said: “At RHCV, we have always made it our ethos to go the extra mile for customers and the acquisition of the Northampton site guaranteed our services were as convenient as possible for customers in the surrounding area.
“Through the successful delivery of a very clear sales strategy and a determined management team, we have seen a steady increase in new and used truck sales, workshop and parts delivery alongside a strong and flexible contract hire and truck and van rental offer.”
Established 40 years ago, RHCV has its head office in Nottingham and a further three sites in Leicester, Alfreton and Northampton. The company employs 90 staff and sell, leases, services and repairs heavy (HGV) and light commercial (LCV) vehicles across the East Midlands.
