CPP helps facilitate off market land acquisition in Leicestershire

Property consultancy Commercial Property Partners LLP (CPP) has secured the acquisition of a 2.25 acre site in Ellistown, Coalville.

Acting on behalf of automotive logistics company Mobile Services, CPP secured the site which provides much needed expansion land adjacent to the company’s existing HQ. Loughborough based Mather Jamie acted for the vendor.

Mobile Services Limited, a family run business, has become a well-respected vehicle logistics service-provider over the past 30 years. With a fleet of over 80 car transporters operating across the UK the business provides logistic solutions to a wide range of customers in the automotive sector.

The expansion land is adjacent to Mobile Services’ existing HQ, situated on the South Leicester Industrial estate, which is within close proximity of J22 on the M1.

The acquisition will allow Mobile Services to expand the business’ head office and main operating centre in Ellistown, which serves as the HQ for the numerous operating centres that it runs throughout the UK.

Tony Badbury of Mobile Services commented: “We were eager to expand our existing HQ in Coalville, rather than relocate, so we were delighted when we were able to purchase this land right next to us.

“The location works really well for us, being based in the Heart of the Midlands region, and we are looking forward to executing our expansion plans.”

The deal follows on from CPP’s disposal of the 3.7 acre former CPL Distribution depot on the same estate to a major logistics operator in late 2018 for £1.7m.

Stuart Waite, Partner at CPP, said: “We are delighted to have identified this opportunity for Mobile Services, and with the help of Mather Jamie we were able to complete an off market deal quickly, enabling Mobile Services to expand their operations at their existing HQ.”

Alex Reid, Director at Mather Jamie: “Having become aware that CPP’s client was looking to purchase expansion land, preferably close to their existing HQ, I approached my client Harworth Estates – the landowner in this case – and together we agreed an off-market sale of this site to Mobile Services, to the benefit of both clients.”
