Location, Location, Location
There are few factors as critical to business success as communication, and it is an essential step when setting up a new office to consider the signal strength in the local area.
With Vodafone about to switch its 5G network on, high data users in any of the seven cities chosen for the launch can be assured of the best connectivity in the country. However, for those based outside a 5G hotspot, it can be a lot more challenging to identify the areas and networks that offer reliable signal.
yboo, the mobile comparison app, has revealed the towns and cities that have the worst signal strength in the country, and are therefore best avoided for those looking to set-up-shop:
- Stockport, North West (Three is the weakest network, however the town is the weakest spot in the country for all four of the UK’s major networks)
- Bromley, Greater London (Vodafone is the weakest network)
- Swindon, South West (Three is the weakest network)
- Wakefield, Yorkshire and the Humber (O2 is the weakest network)
- Nottingham, East Midlands (O2 is the weakest network)
- Derby, West Midlands (EE is the weakest network)
- Wolverhampton, West Midlands (EE is the weakest network)
- Swansea, Wales (Three is the weakest network)
Martyn Gould, Founder and CEO of yboo, commented: “Connectivity is such an important part of running a business, yet so often it’s not something which is on the agenda when people are looking to either relocate or expand to new locations. We have discovered that even major UK cities such as Nottingham, Swansea and even a London borough fail to deliver on signal strength, proving that expectations for great connectivity aren’t always met.
“There’s nothing worse than not being able to take that all-important phone call to a client or having to wait for webpages to load. It’s this kind of downtime throughout the day that can make a big difference to productivity and overall profit. We want to give people access to accurate, unbiased and transparent information relating to their mobiles to help them succeed.”
