Irish honours for Yorkshire proptech CEO
Anthony Walker, the Leeds-based CEO of digital surveying software firm GoReport, has been awarded fellowship by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) in recognition of his contribution to the surveying profession.
Halifax-born-and-bred Anthony, who joined GoReport to head the business in 2018, has had over 30 years’ industry experience as a surveyor and project manager in both the UK and Ireland. He is also a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the past chair of the RICS UK building surveying professional board group, where he also led on proptech, a subject on which he regularly writes and gives talks.
GoReport, which is based in Belfast and has staff across the UK, is a pioneer in the proptech field. The software developed by the business digitises data capture and reporting processes, reducing the time taken by property professionals to generate survey outputs. It is used by a range of sectors, but has primarily been developed for building surveyors, engineers and project managers, more recently gaining traction with fire safety surveyors and loss adjustors.
“I am honoured to have been awarded fellowship status by the SCSI,” said Anthony. “It is an internationally recognised professional body which sets the absolute highest standards of competence and integrity for our profession, providing surveyors with a valuable designation, a mark of excellence that is valued throughout the property and construction industry worldwide.”
He added: “Proptech is positively disrupting the way property data is captured and reported, enabling more informed decisions to be made on future investment decisions, and added client value to be created. It has major benefits for the surveying profession and wider industry and I am looking forward to playing an active part in the SCSI and to contributing thought leadership on this fast-moving area of technology.”
An SCSI fellowship is a prestigious award that reflects the career achievements of a highly-skilled group of property and construction professionals. It is regarded as a mark of distinction, reflecting integrity and overall contribution to the property industry.
