I.C. Electrical powers up expansion plans
Burton upon Trent-based electrical engineering contractor, I.C. Electrical, has fuelled its ambitious growth plans by investing in an impressive new factory and making a series of new hires.
Named “TEHDAS”, Finnish for “factory”, the new facility will provide a valuable boost to the business’ production activities by doubling its manufacturing capability. In particular, the investment will enable I.C. Electrical to maintain its reputation for providing customers with bespoke switchgear panel solutions, whilst increasing sales of its VEDA product range within the UK marketplace.
Split into bays and testing areas to enable an enhanced workflow, the state-of-the-art facility is overlooked by new offices, helping to increase visibility and enhance communication across the business. There are also plans in place to install time lapse cameras, allowing customers to view the progression of their project, from its initial stages through to completion.
To ensure the smooth running of TEHDAS, I.C. Electrical has appointed a dedicated production manager. With a background in electrical engineering, Ross Marshall will be responsible for running the new factory and ensuring that the business’ industry-leading products are delivered on time and to a high standard. Other strategic appointments across the business include two panel wiremen and a specialist mechanical engineer.
I.C. Electrical, and its parent company, Finland-based VEO Group, design and produce systems and control panels for a number of industrial environments and sectors, including manufacturing, power distribution, renewables and oil and gas. I.C. Electrical’s expansion drive aligns with VEO Group’s commercial objective of sustained profitable growth, set by new CEO Timo Ala-Heikkilä, who joined the business earlier this year.
Tim McNeilly, managing director at I.C. Electrical said, “This is a hugely exciting time for I.C. Electrical. Our brand-new facility will allow us to take the installation arm of the business to the next level by scaling up our manufacturing processes. It’s great to have Ross as part of the team and I’m certain his skills and experience will allow us to exceed our commercial goals.”
Timo Ala-Heikkilä, CEO at VEO Group added, “Over the past few years, VEO Group has continuously improved profitability whilst gaining increased international recognition. I.C. Electrical’s new facility is central to this goal, and I look forward to watching the business go from strength to strength.”
