The shortlist for this year’s HSJ Awards has been unveiled

The Health Service Journal is delighted to announce the shortlist for the 2019 HSJ Awards. The shortlist comprises of 236 finalists from healthcare Trusts, service providers, and organisations across the UK, showcasing an inspiring and diverse range of projects embracing innovation; promoting best practice and care as well empowering both patients and staff.

Areas such as patient safety, staff engagement and leadership have also been recognised, alongside categories focusing on mental health.

The HSJ Awards – now in its 39th year - are independently judged by experts from across the sector, looking specifically for entries that clearly display an ‘outstanding contribution’ to healthcare.

In an impressive and highly competitive cohort of entries, all those placed on the 2019 shortlist will have been selected according to a criteria of ambition, visionary spirit and a demonstrable positive impact on patient and staff experiences within the health and / or social care sector.

Alastair McLellan, Editor, HSJ, said; “The HSJ Awards, over the years, have become the most prestigious awards in the NHS. They reflect what’s going on in the NHS at this moment, with all the financial, staffing and other challenges the service faces. The finalists have been chosen based on their outstanding commitment to healthcare excellence.”

The full shortlist of the 2019 HSJ awards (partnered by GRI) can be viewed on the HSJ Awards website. The final round of judging will take place next month when shortlisted organisations will present their projects to a panel of experts and NHS leaders.
