New Gateshead drivers rewarded with ‘license to thrill’ Vue screening
To celebrate recently passing their driving test, Vue Gateshead invited a number new drivers and their driving instructors to a special screening of Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
Marking the release of the highly anticipated spin-off, newly qualified students and instructors from Gateshead-based Apollo Driving School were treated to a complimentary viewing of the car-centric action flick starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba.
A fast-faced and action-packed addition to the blockbuster series, the new release sees ex-advisories Hobbs and Shaw once again team up in an attempt to stop yet another international threat from dooming humanity – this time in the form of the villainous super-powered Brixton (Elba).
David Evans, director at Apollo Driving School, attended the exclusive screening. He said: “Everyone was so excited to be invited along and the film didn’t disappoint.
“Learning to drive can feel like a stressful experience but it’s so rewarding from the second you get your license. Although, I don’t know if my colleagues and I would recommend driving like the heroes on screen!”
Ben Tulip, Manager at Vue Gateshead, said: “It was fantastic to have all of the students and the team from Apollo Driving School visit the site and
we’re thrilled to hear they enjoyed the film. We hope that we’ve maybe even inspired the next Hollywood stunt driver!“
