Scheme for aspiring County Durham home owners is a sell-out

Over 50 new homes at developments across County Durham have been snapped up in just six weeks by buyers who are keen to get on the property ladder.

Developed by m!ne, the Rent to Buy arm of believe housing, the three-bed houses have been introduced to ease the transition from renting to buying.

All three sites, in Bowburn, Peterlee and Seaham have been so well received that they are now sold out, with around 80 per cent of the homes reserved within a month of the house details going live.

Kate Abson, Director of Development at m!ne, said: “Buying a home is one of the biggest financial commitments you’ll make, and it’s sadly something that many people will struggle to achieve.

“Our properties are proving to be a huge hit as we help people to take their first steps on the property ladder.

“We are absolutely delighted with the response we have had to the new developments and with plans to release more than 100 further new properties in the coming months, we look forward to welcoming many more people into their new homes.”

The core aim of m!ne is to ease people’s transition from renting to buying, by providing the opportunity to save for a deposit and get ready to own their home.

From heated chrome towel rails to high end kitchen appliances, all of m!ne’s properties boast modern kitchens, generous living areas, spacious bedrooms and front and back gardens as standard.

By opting for a m!ne home, tenants benefit from a reduced rate of rent, usually around 20% lower than they’d pay to a private landlord.

With the money saved, tenants will be able to build up a deposit and buy their home after five years.

Details about m!ne’s next phase of developments are expected to be released in the new year. With demand so high for the current developments, aspiring homeowners are urged to register their interest early to avoid disappointment.
