West Yorkshire logistics and property firm opens speculative warehouse near Wakefield
Property and logistics specialist Onward Holdings has constructed a new speculative warehouse in Featherstone by Junction 31 of the M62.
Phoenix 66 is an institutionally-designed 66,812 sq ft distribution unit, with an additional second floor office area spanning 3,104 sq ft.
The unit has a mix of dock and ground-level loading doors, 13 metre eaves height and a fully-concreted 43 m deep service yard.
The completion of Phoenix 66 follows swiftly on the back of Onward’s refurbishment and letting of the 108,500 sq ft Normanton 108 unit to Leman Transport, as well as the recent acquisition of the 68,500 sq ft Atlas Park building, both near Wakefield.
Iain McPhail, partner and head of global property consultancy Knight Frank’s Leeds industrial team, said: “There is a dearth of mid-sized new build warehouse stock in the region currently and the property provides an institutionally-designed and flexible opportunity for occupiers looking for quality space close to labour and motorways.”
Andrew Miller, of Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors in Sheffield, added: “This is an excellent high-bay warehouse unit which has a 13 m eaves height and office accommodation that can easily be expanded to provide more office space or welfare facilities.”
