In Touch partners with leading science academy to support education for young women across Africa
In Touch Futures, the charity arm of elite business coaching and development network, In Touch, has partnered with a leading African science and maths academy for girls.
The partnership will see In Touch Futures come together with The African Science Academy (ASA) and its parent organisation, African Gifted Foundation, to provide support to young women from across Africa who are looking to pursue an education in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.
Opened in 2016, The African Science Academy is a girls-only Advanced Level school for maths and science and was founded by the African Gifted Foundation, a UK charity that runs science academies across Africa. The academy provides a pathway to future careers in engineering, science and computing for girls across Africa.
In Touch charity manager, Annette Berry said: “We are delighted to partner with ASA and be able to support an initiative that rewards application, creates opportunity through education and supports children from all walks of life.
“In Touch as an organisation is built on the ideals of improvement through continuous learning and development and this is embodied by both ASA and their gifted and determined students. We are really looking forward to working with the team to open up top-level education to even more young women across Africa.”
In Touch Futures was founded in 2016 with the vision of fighting the effects of poverty through education, in hope of giving every individual the chance of a brighter future. The charity is funded through the In Touch network with £5 of every new membership being donated to charity.
Tom Ilube CBE, Chair of the ASA said: “We are delighted to have In Touch Futures as a key sponsor of the African Science Academy. In Touch completely understands the importance of unleashing talent and will make an amazing partner for the young women of the African Science Academy.
“The Academy relies on the generous funding from our partners to be able to continue supporting young women across Africa in furthering their career. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support In Touch Futures will be providing.”
In Touch is recognised as one of the UK’s fastest-growing businesses by Deloitte and the Financial Times and has recently announced its expansion into the USA.
