Wild time guaranteed thanks to Asda Cramlington

Northumberland Wildlife Trust has rounded off its summer of activities at Northumberlandia with a £350 cash boost from Asda, Cramlington

The superstore in Cramlington is no stranger to the Trust’s work at the Lady of the North site, having already donated £275 towards its Santa’s Grotto event last December and £300 towards its February 2019 half-term holiday events on the site.

Now, thanks to Jackie Burt, Asda Community Champion at the Manor Walks superstore, the Trust has £350 that will be used to encourage children and families to become involved with the wildlife on the Blagdon Lane site.

Not content with handing over the cheque, Wild Child Jackie volunteered with the events team, spending two days with her hands deep in soil, worms and other creepy crawlies as well as heading off on the Northumberlandia Woodland Treasure Hunt trail with a line of nature loving youngsters following behind.

Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Chief Executive says: “The continued support from Jackie and the team at Asda Cramlington is invaluable as it is allowing us to buy high quality resources for our events which are a vital part of encouraging people to get involved with wildlife in their area.”
