CPP advises on the latest development

Construction work has started on five new industrial units at the Network Space’s Ashroyd Business Park in Barnsley.

Contractors GF Tomlinson are now on site and making progress on the units, which will range from 10,900 sq ft to 52,500 sq ft, developed for companies within the industrial and distribution sector and to address the need for more space in the region.

The scheme which will to completed by Spring 2020 is being marketed by the experienced team from Commercial Property Partners, advising on the leasing and sales of the units.

Network Space, in partnership with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council as well as Sheffield City Region and their Jessica Fund, which has provided a loan of £6.13m to the project, are delivering the project.

The site, located off the Dearne Valley Parkway, provides excellent transport links, and has Universal, Components, Euromax and Storefirst currently occupying the existing units.

Ed Norris, from agent CPP, added: “Speculative development at Ashroyd is just what the occupier market needs. Quality units in a quality location which will appeal to both South and West Yorkshire occupiers looking for space along the M1 corridor. Network Space has a proven track record to deliver the right product and we anticipate strong demand for the whole development.”

Simon Peters, development director at Network Space, said: “Breaking ground at the site was a great moment for all parties and a clear demonstration of our confidence in the buoyancy of the region’s economy.

“The development benefits from first-class transport links and we have every confidence that its prime location, matched with the quality of our end product, will result in us bringing new businesses and jobs to the site in the very near future.”
