HURST team raises over £3,000 in charity challenge

Staff at accounting and business advisory firm HURST raised more than £3,000 for charity by running, cycling and walking along the Middlewood Way in Cheshire.

A total of 33 staff took part in the charity challenge along the 11-mile picturesque countryside route which runs from Marple to Macclesfield.

Business services partner Helen Besant Roberts, Paul Corner, James Hallewell and Ryan Tattler were the runners, Nigel Barratt, head of HURST Corporate Finance, tax partner Liz Gallagher, Katie Olivier and Lisa Wichlacz cycled and the rest of the group walked.

They raised a total of £3,100 for Manchester-based RECLAIM, which is the firm’s charity of the year.

RECLAIM is a leadership and social change organisation which runs programmes to equip disadvantaged young people with the skills, knowledge, confidence and resilience to overcome the barriers and inequalities they face.

HURST partner Simon Brownbill said: “It’s always great to be able to give back to the community, and even better when we can do this collectively as a firm.

“We’re thrilled with the amount we managed to raise, knowing this will make a tangible difference for our chosen charity of the year.”
