ARTIQ appoints Katie Terres as Chief Operating Officer
ARTIQ, the UK’s leading art rental experts, has appointed Katie Terres as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Katie joins founders Patrick McCrae, CEO, and Don McCrae, Finance Director, on the board of ARTIQ, which has secured more than £9m corporate investment into the arts and paid out more than £3m to artists, art makers and institutions since its launch 10 years ago.
Katie will oversee the company’s strategy and processes, which bridges the gap between the art and business worlds, working with major corporate clients whilst promoting fair pay for artists, as well as being a key ambassador for the business, representing ARTIQ on projects and events throughout EMEA.
She will also be managing ARTIQ’s hospitality department and overseeing the pitching and delivery of unique art collections for leading international hospitality spaces, including Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik and Whitworth Locke in Manchester.
Amongst the dozens of events ARTIQ runs every year are the annual Graduate Arts Prize, which it founded and co-sponsors with Herbert Smith Freehills, and the Queer Frontiers exhibition during Pride Month, sponsored by Hiscox. Previously the company’s Head of Operations, Katie joined ARTIQ in 2016 as an Art Consultant, having completed her MA at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She is an accomplished speaker and writer, regularly speaking at industry events and publishing thought leadership pieces for ARTIQ Opinion.
Patrick McCrae, Chief Executive of ARTIQ, said:
“I am delighted Katie is joining the ARTIQ board to help lead the next phase of the company’s growth. Our mission is to bring outstanding art and experiences to businesses, and we have exciting plans to expand our offering and enter new markets as we begin our second decade. Our success has been based on the passion and knowledge of our staff and Katie exemplifies both qualities”.
Katie Terres, Chief Operating Officer of ARTIQ, said:
“I look forward to working with Patrick and Don in my new role, ensuring we continue to provide an outstanding service to our growing portfolio of clients and developing new services, such as our artist-in-residence programme, ARTIQ Experience. We are planning a series of events to tie in with ARTIQ’s tenth anniversary and it is a great opportunity to showcase our work and share our vision for the future”.
