London recruitment firm acquires competitor in deal led by Literacy Capital

A new partnership between Pure and Dartmouth Partners has been revealed today (September 20).

Pure, a recruiter in sectors including tax, legal, risk and compliance, has been led by Chris Nelson and Charles Ferguson for the past 20 years.

It has grown to have offices in London, New York, Berlin, Hong Kong and Singapore, with the shareholders looking at how best to maximise the potential of the business in the future.

Dartmouth Partners is a recruitment business specialising in the likes of corporate finance, investment banking and private equity. It was founded in 2012 by Logan Naidu and while also headquartered in London, has offices in Paris and Frankfurt.

Literacy Capital invested in Dartmouth in June 2018 to support Dartmouth expand its proposition and footprint. Since 2018, Dartmouth has expanded its presence in permanent and interim roles.

It has also launched in legal and distribution. As a result of increased investment, Dartmouth has grown by over 30 per cent year-on-year despite broader political uncertainty.

Literacy Capital is a private investment fund, and was set up in 2017. Its chairman, Paul Pindar, was also a founder of Capita plc in 1987. He helped to take this business from a valuation of £330k to £8.5bn by the time he retired in 2014.

Logan will become Group CEO and continues to look for further acquisitions. The partnership has been backed by Literacy Capital plc.
