Buildbase FA Trophy & Vase clubs invited to apply for £100k renovation programme

Buildbase is giving away £100,000 worth of building materials as it launches its programme to renovate non-league football clubs for the fourth year.

This season (2019/20), the “£100k Transfer Deal” will give away £25,000 worth of building materials to four clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase competitions.

The first round of the programme is now open and clubs taking part in the competitions are invited to apply through the Buildbase website until 17 November 2019. Buildbase will re-open for the second round of entries from January 2020.

Judges, including those from Buildbase and the FA, will be looking for clubs that demonstrate a feasible renovation project that benefits players and supporters as well as the local community.

Clubs will be encouraged to get fans to support their application through the Buildbase website and social media. The club with the most votes will score a “golden ticket” with automatic entry to the final. Six clubs will be shortlisted in total and they will be invited to pitch their renovation plans to a panel of judges at Wembley Stadium.

Non-league pundit and TalkSPORT radio and Sky TV reporter Tony Incenzo will be reporting the progress of the £100k Transfer Deal throughout the coming season. “It’s a great initiative because every Non-League club needs building materials to meet their ground grading requirements,” said Tony.

Over the coming weeks Buildbase branches across England will be helping clubs to plan and cost their projects. The merchant is also offering a discount on building materials to clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase.

Ian McConville, Procurement Director at Buildbase said: “Non-league football clubs mean so much to the communities around them, but they are often in dire need of help. So far, we’ve given away building materials worth up to £300,000 and it’s fantastic to see so many of the projects we’ve supported get underway. Our programme has benefited many local people already and I urge any club that has renovation plans to apply.”

The Buildbase “£100k Transfer Deal” has been running since the builders’ merchant became the title sponsor of the FA Trophy and Vase in 2016.

Previous winners include Hanwell Town, Cleethorpes Town, Cheadle Town, Needham Market, AFC Darwen and Tadcaster Albion AFC, Weymouth FC, Barnoldswick Town FC. Projects range from improvements for disabled and special needs supporters to clubhouse redecoration.
