Sedgefield MP officially opens exclusive County Durham housing development
Sedgefield MP Phil Wilson has welcomed the opening and investment of a luxury new housing development in Chilton, County Durham by North East housebuilder Homes by Carlton.
He recently opened Cathedral Gates, a development of 14 highly unique and characterful homes, designed to the highest standard.
Talking at the opening, Phil Wilson MP said: “It’s wonderful to open this brand-new housing development in the heart of County Durham.
“This kind of investment in Chilton is very welcome and it’s good to see a return to market from a local, award-winning housebuilder and hear about their expansion plans.
“Cathedral Gates is their first development in Durham since the recession and comes at a time when Chilton is seeing improvements in its fortune.
“These fabulous new homes have not only brought jobs to the region with Homes by Carlton recruiting locally and boosting County Durham’s supply chain, but they will also attract more young professionals and families to Chilton which is great news for the area.”
Cathedral Gates is just eight miles from the cathedral city of Durham, boasting 14 3- and 4-bedroom homes, developed to the highest specification, combining hand-built craftsmanship, attention to detail and modern living expectations.
Simon Walker, managing director at Homes by Carlton, added: “Special thanks to Phil Wilson MP for officially opening Cathedral Gates, a fantastic development that we’ve worked really hard to build to a high standard.
