Home Bargains to move into Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park

Orbit Developments’ Middlebrook Retail Park, the UK’s largest retail and leisure park based in Horwich, Bolton are pleased to announce that Home Bargains, one of the UK’s largest family run retailers, will be joining their line up early in 2020.

The value retailer will employ 60-80 full and part time staff in the new store, which occupies a prominent spot at the entrance to Middlebrook and boasts 33,260 sq ft with a 5,565 sq ft conservatory and 9,537 sq ft garden centre.

It will join two other Home Bargains stores in the Bolton area and over 500 outlets across the UK which attract more than five million customers every week. The ambitious retailer is currently opening around 50 stores a year, bucking industry trends.

Orbit are taking positive steps to secure the viability of the offering on their retail parks by introducing strong, successful tenants where the opportunity presents itself, and the move follows similar lettings to Home Bargains of 26,000 sq ft at Lyme Green Retail Park in Macclesfield and 15,464 sq ft at Burnley Retail Park.

The new store will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Mark Hanna, Senior Retail Leasing Surveyor at Orbit Developments, said Middlebrook was the perfect spot for Home Bargains.

He commented: “Middlebrook shoppers have been asking us for a retailer like Home Bargains on the park so we’re delighted to have received planning permission for this new store. They join a great selection of other successful retail brands at Middlebrook, establishing the Park as a great destination for local shoppers. Home Bargains popularity is sure to add further footfall to the benefit of everyone at Middlebrook. We wish them well.”
