Elliot Chmielinski Appointed as Channel Manager – Projects Business for Somfy UK and Ireland

• Smart home specialist Somfy appoints new Channel Manager responsible for the company’s Projects business function across UK and Ireland

• Elliot joins from Stansons Group, where he was Sales Manager

11 October 2019 – The connected home specialist Somfy today announces the appointment of Elliot Chmielinski as Channel Manager for the Projects Business across the company’s UK and Ireland operations.

Elliot will be responsible for managing a team of Projects staff across both sales and delivery, and will manage the company’s Projects strategy in line with its UK roadmap.

He joins the company from intelligent shading solutions specialist Stansons Group, where he was Sales Manager and ultimately responsible for planning, implementing and managing the business’s sales strategy. He previously worked at industrial engineering firm KONE Corporation in a variety of sales roles, ultimately managing a portfolio of contracts worth £1.8 million.

Elliot joins at a time where the company is undergoing a period of growth and transformation, including the expansion of Somfy’s Protect home security range, and the appointment of Steven Montgomery as Managing Director for UK and Ireland.

Commenting on his appointment, Elliot said: “Somfy is a hugely exciting company; it is truly innovative in terms of its technology, it has global reach and ambitious growth plans, and it employs some of the most talented people in the industry. There’s a fantastic opportunity here to really increase the amount of motorisation in the industry and carve out a position as a true world leader, and I’m looking forward to playing a fundamental role in that.”

Steven Montgomery, the new Managing Director for UK and Ireland at Somfy, said: “There’s a huge amount of energy at Somfy at the moment; we are seeing a significant increase in the demand for Dynamic Solar Shading in projects, and we have ambitious growth plans throughout the UK and Ireland. Elliot brings fantastic skills and experience to the team and, just as importantly, passion and enthusiasm for our technology and mission.”
