London's BizSpace opens first purpose-built centre worth £5m in Fareham
Flexible workspace provider BizSpace has opened its £5m purpose-built business centre in Solent Business Park.
4300 Parkway is the first centre the company has built from the ground up and it has officially been opened by Cllr Seán D T Woodward, executive leader at Fareham Council and Khalid Aziz, BizSpace’s marketing director.
BizSpace unveiled the building at a launch event where Cllr Woodward gave a speech, in which he discussed the growing SME community in Fareham and how the new business centre will help local entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive.
BizSpace has created a three-storey office building comprising 72 individual offices, ranging in size from 120 to 150 sq ft, along with 195 car parking spaces.
Emma Long, commercial director of BizSpace, said: “The opening of our first purpose-built business centre is a huge milestone.
“Solent Business Park has great accessibility in a region that is increasingly attractive as a business location, making it the perfect location for our first ground-up development.
“We understand what is important to start-ups and aim to ease the pressure of running a small business. We invest time with our customers and help them to find a space that suits them. We look forward to helping Fareham’s entrepreneurs and SMEs to thrive.”
The building has communal spaces including meeting rooms, a kitchen, plus amenities including showers.
The building is situated between Southampton and Portsmouth. Neighbouring offices are already occupied by companies including air traffic control provider NATS, Northrop Grumman, Lloyds TSB and Zurich Insurance.
Fareham Borough Council has encouraged the growth of small enterprises in recent years by endorsing agencies like Enterprise First and Solent Growth Hub to offer SMEs advice and support.
Cllr Seán D T Woodward, added: “The Fareham area is an excellent place to do business. Solent Business Park has already attracted some blue-chip companies and the opening of the BizSpace centre will provide a much-needed offering to the local SME community.
“I am thrilled to have opened the centre and look forward to seeing the big businesses of tomorrow being created here.”
