Gas Tag chief welcomes growing emphasis on the importance of data following latest social housing regulator report
UK Tech firm, Gas Tag, has responded to the seventh annual Sector Risk Profile after it was published by the Regulator of Social Housing on Tuesday 15 October.
According to the report, social housing providers are facing increased risks and the regulator has called on them to ensure they have strong and appropriate oversight of health and safety compliance.
John Roche, COO at Gas Tag, said: “We are delighted to see the regulator emphasise the importance of good quality data and its expectation that all providers have systems in place to provide effective compliance reporting.
“Our revolutionary product gives housing providers a complete overview of their compliance in real-time, meaning users can run reports safe in the knowledge that the data in front of them is the single version of the truth.
“The Hackett Review highlighted that having a record of compliance is no longer enough and this has been echoed by the regulator in this latest report. Gas Tag gives providers complete visibility of the work carried out in its properties including, geo-tagging engineers to the location, images of the work that has been carried out and the instant creation of digital Landlord Gas Safety Records (LGSR).
“Through the Gas Tag app, engineers can also report on the condition of appliances in the property, such as boilers . Users can then run reports on this information, allowing them to make investment decisions based on quality data.
“We also noted in the report that regulator has dealt with a number of cases where providers were unable to evidence whether the required work has been carried out. This only strengthens the case for moving towards a real-time digital platform where information can be accessed at any time.
“Reports such as the Sector Risk Profile demonstrate the growing importance of data and technology in providing safe homes. We are already working closely with housing providers across the country and look forward to working with more as we improve safety through technology. “
