Miller Homes Supports Yorkshire Community Library As It Looks To The Future

A leading housebuilder, which creates communities and builds homes across the county, has pledged its support to a community library in a Yorkshire village.

Miller Homes, which currently has its Kings Mews development in Drighlington, has donated to the library to assist with the purchase of new books and material and help with preserving it for the future.

“This is a great facility for any community and, it is very pleasing to see that this community has rallied round to ensure a library remains available for its residents,” said Natalie Moore, Sales Manager, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “Reading and books are such an important part of our lives, and give us opportunities to learn, relax and study; all of which we undertake in our homes on a regular basis.”

Chris Carlin, Marketing Manager at Miller Homes Yorkshire visited the library to see the current facility and to also discuss its future plans. Situated in the Community Hall, the library will be temporarily closing imminently to allow refurbishment of the hall, and such donations will assist in making it even better once it reopens in spring 2020.

“We are grateful for the donation from Miller Homes and for the interest that they have shown in this community and this facility,” said Mary Goldsworthy, Chair of Drighlington Community Charitable Incorporated Organisation (DCCIO). “Our library is run solely by volunteers and we rely on financial support from external parties to be able to maintain it as a valuable community asset.”
