New £5m spa in Harrogate opening next month creates 20 local jobs
Members of the public are being given the opportunity to look around a new £5m spa and wellness centre opening next month in Harrogate.
Creating 20 jobs, The Harrogate Spa - located at the DoubleTree Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa - will offer thermal experiences, including a spa pool, Himalayan salt sauna, steam room, Rasul, experience shower and ice fountain.
It will also have a 12.5m indoor pool and six treatment rooms, two of which are double, tranquil relaxation lounge leading out to a Zen and courtyard spa garden, spa café and terrace, fully equipped gym and studio.
Between now and its November launch, the public is invited to view the facility as work transforming the former Majestic Leisure Centre nears completion.
Harrogate Spa’s director, Lynn Roach, said: “With the opening of the Harrogate Spa in a few weeks, Harrogate will have a stunning addition to its spa heritage.
“Its arrival on the town’s spa scene will also add another fantastic dimension to the recently refurbished - and renamed - DoubleTree Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa, in whose grounds it is sited.
“Whilst not quite finished, we are now in a position to show people around our wonderful facility. And those who remember the old leisure club will be in a for a total surprise. This is not a refurbishment but a total re-build. When complete, the transformation will be incredible.”
Last month, Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones officially opened the DoubleTree Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa following the completion of a £15m round of renovations.
