SMP bolsters senior leadership with Peter Martin as managing director
SMP is boosting its senior leadership line up with the appointment of Peter Martin as managing director.
Martin will spearhead smp’s ambitious growth plans with a remit to build a future-facing agency that meets the changing needs of its clients at a time of deep disruption in shopper and commerce experience. He will report into smp CEO, Chris Carter
Martin brings extensive leadership experience to the agency, having held a number of senior positions including managing partner at Cheil Worldwide and managing director at Arc UK. Previous work includes launching the Samsung S6, OLED TV and the Cannes Lion Gold ‘We are David Bailey’ campaign. Martin also oversaw the P&G EMEA shopper and digital business working on brands including Max Factor, SKII, Always and Herbal Essences.
Chris Carter said: “We now have a full and thriving management team focused on taking smp to the next level – and in Peter, we have one of the most respected names in shopper marketing, with more than twenty years’ experience running strategic campaigns and delivering growth. He has a natural leadership ability and brings a special energy that fits very well with smp’s culture.
“He’s got a keen eye on the future, and we are really excited to see the impact he will have on our clients’ businesses as well as on the agency as a whole.”
Martin adds: “I’m completely aligned with smp’s mission; to create effortless purchase experiences, engaging shoppers wherever they are to make it easier and faster for them to find and buy. My passion stems from seeing behaviours change as a result of influencing how consumers interact with brands. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in!”
