Rapidly-growing specialists expanding its services and workforce

A rapidly-growing automotive, aerospace and electrical specialist is expanding its services and workforce in Coventry as well as setting up an academy to train future generations.

Paramex, which was set-up in 1999, works with global businesses within the automotive industry such as Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley Motors and Geely from its office at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Business Innovation Centre in Binley.

Paramex has secured contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers within design, engineering and other specialist sectors in the UK and Europe which includes building 3D models and creating 3D visualisations for websites, configurators and product launches.

The business employs 50 plus staff, including contractors and Strategic Partners. Lisa May has been appointed as Business Director to set-up a division called Paramex Exec focusing on design and engineering technical services.

Lisa said: “This is a really exciting time to join the company because we are setting up a new team of people to work on Specialist Engineering Service Models.

“I have been working in this industry for over 25 and have identified key areas of requirement with our clients. I will be looking at those areas where we believe we can offer a better service by structured processes.

“We provide a full end-to-end service. Our business model has our customers at the heart of everything we do and it is defined to ensure we can deliver a whole range of services whether it is design and technology or project management.

“This is a great base for us because of the flexibility it offers for growth, which is exactly what we need moving forward, and also because of the fantastic location right at the heart of engineering in the West Midlands.”

Paramex has also launched an academy to help ease the shortage of highly-skilled young people joining the sector.

Lisa added: “We focus on taking talented individuals and have secured some exceptional technical staff, placing them within programmes working alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This gives them the opportunity to obtain training, knowledge and experience, ultimately offering our clients the next generation of technical skills, with a transfer to permanent employment free of charge.”
