North Yorkshire site set to house 133 holiday park lodges
Planning permission has been secured for the development of 133 holiday park lodges and accompanying facilities at a former exhibition and leisure centre.
The part-developed site at Malton Road, Pickering – which is just one hour from seaside resorts Scarborough and Whitby – totals 112 acres and is now available for purchase after Avison Young was appointed on behalf of administrators.
Three of the one, two and three-bedroom lodges and 60 of the glamping pods have already been built, with foundations laid for an additional 57 lodges. Once complete, a 45,000 sq ft warehouse on site will offer events facilities as well as a tenanted gas well, generating £36,000 in rent per annum.
Chris Brooksbank from Avison Young’s restructuring team, operating from the firm’s Leeds office, said: “Sites like this don’t come along very often and it presents an exciting opportunity for a leisure operator in a location that is popular with tourists and holiday makers.
“The development completed to date is finished to a very high standard, making the site suitable for continued development or it could be repurposed for other uses.”
Founded in 1978, Avison Young comprises approximately 5,000 real estate professionals in 120 offices in 20 countries.
