Shark looking sharp at Thorpe Park

SharkNinja staff have moved into their 16,500 sq ft European Headquarters at Thorpe Park near Leeds this month and the new workplace has gone down a storm! The two storey interiors have been designed and fitted by Yorkshire-based Ben Johnson Interiors.

SharkNinja is the creator of home technology brand SharkNinja, the maker of Shark floorcare vacuum products and Ninja kitchen appliances. The company has a global headquarters in Needham, US and employs 1200 people across eight countries. 230 people will be based in this brand new Leeds office.

Ben Johnson Interiors were commissioned by SharkNinja to create a very special “state of the art” workplace. The new office was to convey SharkNinja’s corporate identity yet retain its own character to reflect the requirements and needs of the people working there. This was to be an office that would support continued growth, attract strong talent from the region and represent the client’s European Head Office.

The design and build of this spectacular workplace was very collaborative with Ben Johnson Interiors teams and SharkNinja personnel working closely throughout. Shark Ninja’s own Feng Shui consultant advised on the preferred colours and materials for seating, flooring and walls depending on the function of the department and purpose of the working area. Fun typography conveying brand ethos was included on glazed partitions and on feature walls.

Once the plans and concept design were explained and approved, Ben Johnson Interiors sourced suitable fittings and fixture options and invited SharkNinja Directors from their US Head office to visit the London showrooms of top workplace furniture designers and manufacturers.

The finished workspace is spacious, bright and highly flexible – with light, yet sturdy furniture throughout. Every component is visually appealing – even down to the kitchen taps, acoustic baffles and wastepaper bins.

Emma Dodsley, Marketing Director from Ben Johnson Interiors says: “This was a fantastic project to work on from the outset. SharkNinja were very innovative in their approach and receptive to different design concepts while still being totally clear on the look, feel and detail they wished to achieve.”

Barbara Rodi Dadasis, Senior Director Corporate Services and Facilities from Shark Ninja says: “I’m stunned! This is a wonderful, wonderful workplace and Ben Johnson Interiors have worked brilliantly to make it happen. Great work. Thank you!”
