Trainee Returns to Derby Firm in Senior Role
FORMER TRAINEE RETURNS TO DERBY FIRM IN SENIOR ROLE
Leading Derby-based project managers and construction cost consultants Armsons have welcomed back a former trainee into a senior role.
Josh Toon joined the firm in 2011 as a trainee quantity surveyor, during which time he also studied for a five-year part-time degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at Nottingham Trent University.
He left Armsons in late 2017 to join Loughborough-based Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors, where he progressed to senior surveyor. During his time away, Josh gained valuable leadership experience and was responsible for managing a team of quantity surveyors and working on multi-million pound schemes.
He also gained his Professional Chartership (MRICS) with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in November 2018.
He now re-joins the team at Armsons as an associate director. In his new role, he will be involved in the diverse range of project management, quantity surveying and cost management services carried out the by company for both private and public sector clients.
Commenting on his return to Armsons, Josh said:
“It’s exciting to be back at Armsons taking on new responsibilities amongst so many familiar faces.
“Steve, Sally, Jonathan and the team gave me a tremendous amount of help and support when I was a trainee and I’m look forward to getting stuck into some really exciting projects in my new senior role with the firm.”

He’s worked really hard over the past couple of years, completing his degree and achieving his MRICS qualification. “He has gained experience of working on a diverse range of major projects and is set to take on more responsibility in his new role as a senior member of the team.”
