Altin Homes wins United Kingdom Property Award

Altin Homes has been honoured for the fifth time at the UK Property Awards in London for their 7,000 sq ft Fairfield House project in the Best Renovation category for Greater Manchester. The Altrincham property developer picked up the 5*award, the highest accolade possible.

Fairfield House, located on Green Walk in Bowdon, has been recognised for the stunning transformation it has undergone. Originally built in 1995, the property was out-dated but given its highly desirable location and extensive plot, the team at Altin saw a fantastic opportunity to convert the house.

The interior of the property was gutted and completely redeveloped and the building extended with a large single storey leisure suite featuring a striking metal blade façade and an eco-friendly sedum green roof. The leisure suite, which incorporates a gym, sauna and media room, is linked to the original house via a glass corridor which extends upwards to the first floor, creating a glazed enclosure through which the master suite’s dressing area is accessed. A terrace, surrounded by a glass balustrade completes this stunning, contemporary feature.

Commenting on the redevelopment of the house, Altin Homes managing director, Mohammad Khoy said, “These days the tendency is to knock a property down and start from scratch and that was something we did look at however, the property was really well built and it seemed such a waste.

“Instead we decided to work with the excellent house and give it a complete face lift whilst adding a really contemporary feature.”

The UK Property Awards are part of the International Property Awards. Now in their 26th year, the awards are judged by an independent panel of over 80 industry experts with judging focusing on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability. The panel is chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, The Earl of Liverpool and Lord Thurso.

Speaking about the award win, Mohammad continued, “We are delighted to have collected this award for Fairfield House, particularly as this is our fifth win at these awards.

“The award bears testament to the team’s skill and hard work and the fantastic property that we have created.”
