Morley Hayes Wins Coveted Award at the Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards

Derbyshire hotel, golf and leisure complex Morley Hayes, has won the coveted Leisure & Lifestyle award at the Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards 2019.

The popular venue in Morley beat off fierce competition from Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, Matlock Farm Park and the Peak Edge Hotel - the Red Lion Pub and Restaurant at Stonedge to win the award, which was presented at an awards ceremony at Casa Hotel, hosted by young BBC Apprentice winner Ashleigh Porter-Exley.

The Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards recognise the best and brightest of the business world across Derbyshire.

Morley Hayes won the ‘Leisure & Lifestyle’ Award in recognition of its success in offering customers the complete package for dining, weddings, golf and leisure breaks, conferences and functions.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Derbyshire countryside overlooking parkland golf courses, Morley Hayes boasts a luxury four star, 32-bedroom hotel and a choice of three restaurants, including the award-winning two AA rosette Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bar.

Golf facilities include a championship 18-hole Manor course, 9-hole Tower course, a newly refurbished 17 bay, all weather floodlit driving range, golf pavilion, new Tower Café and a highly respected Golf Academy. Phase two of the redevelopment of the driving range is currently underway and is set to be completed towards the end of this year.

Commenting on winning the award, Andrew Allsop, managing director of Morley Hayes, said:

“We’re very proud to have won this prestigious award, which recognises businesses from across the county.

“The Morley Hayes team work so hard to make sure our hotel and leisure facilities consistently deliver the very highest standards and for their hard work to be recognised is hugely gratifying.

“We’ll continue to innovate and adapt to a changing leisure market in order to provide all our customers with the highest possible levels of service.”

Phil Bramley, editor of the Derbyshire Times, added:

“It was a fantastic night and we would like to thank everyone for battling the weather and coming out to celebrate.

“It is brilliant to have so many amazing businesses in Derbyshire and nights like these are important to recognise the hard work they all do. Congratulations to everyone.”
