Scaleup Focus Week: Taking a look at strategy with Everflow Group's CEO

Ahead of Bdaily’s Scaleup Focus Week, we are turning our attention to all things strategy.

When it comes to scaling businesses, there needs to be a vital strategy in place to grow and continue expanding, reaching new markets and evolving with ever-changing times.

You could look at accelerator programmes, team members and investors; all of these link to how successful a company will be in scaling up.

With this in mind, Stockton-on-Tees company Everflow Group got in touch with Bdaily to discuss its strategy which has, in turn, scaled its business successfully.

Here, Josh Gill, CEO of Everflow Group, had his say: “Over the past three years, Everflow Water has achieved a revenue growth of over 10,000 per cent, with its current annualised revenue exceeding £50m.

“I believe a lot of this success is a result of the company vision and values, which have helped us work together as a team to take on the scale-up challenge, as well as our focus on automation.

“We have found great returns from running events like vision evenings where senior management remind employees of the company’s goals and values - which are pioneering, unity, responsibility and excellence - and open up for a fair and equal exchange of ideas.

“It’s this focus on innovation and encouraging everyone in the company to have their say that has led to the launch of Everflow Group’s new company, Everflow Tech, which provides technology solutions for the water industry.

“The software we have recently launched under Everflow Tech, Eclipse, was inspired by the issues and inefficiencies the Everflow Water team faced, primarily in terms of billing and customer service.

“We realised there wasn’t a software platform on the market that could do everything we wanted it to, so we decided to create one.

“Eclipse has both increased revenues and improved efficiency for Everflow Water - and ultimately, it has been integral to its scaleup success.

“It is now being used by other water retailers in the industry which have the same desire to increase efficiencies, automate and scaleup.

“To summarise - making sure employees are engaged, spotting problems, and creating solutions as a team, in my experience, have all proven invaluable when it comes to growth and scaling.”
