New office in Altrincham for ambitious software firm

Aquarium Software, the UK’s ‘go to’ pet and travel insurance platform, has moved into Orbit’s Charter House property in Altrincham after another strong period of growth.

Aquarium collaborate with the industry’s biggest brands to provide insurance products to millions of high street bank and supermarket customers, as well as their clients, selling direct to consumers via their call centres and on-line, all supported by its market-leading technology.

In the last ten years this technology has helped brands manage more than 20,000 claim settlements, collect more than £6 million in pet premiums every month and look after over 4 million UK travel customers.

The UK Pet Insurance Market reached the £1billion mark in 2017 and further growth is expected. A third of pet owners do not routinely insure their pets, but are there to be persuaded, according to an Insurance Post round table discussion in February 2019, sponsored by Aquarium.

The company moved its team of 43 - with room for growth - into 5,626 sq ft on the 4th floor of the prestigious Charter House property located on Woodlands Road, opposite Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham.

It offers all the features you would expect from superior office accommodation in a town centre location, including air con, superfast broadband, 24/7 access and the services of a Building Manager.

The move follows a sustained period of expansion for Aquarium, which has also seen the recent addition of new Technical Director and board member Simon Brushett.

Simon brings over 20 years’ experience to the role, working for innovative tech companies in a diverse range of sectors and has been instrumental in making a common communication protocol between practice management systems and insurers a reality.

Simon has a deep passion for technology and the engineering practices which will be needed to deliver Aquarium Software’s future product vision and cement its place at the heart of what is widely recognised as a Northern hub for digital innovation.

He said: “We hope to attract a new generation of tech literate graduates in the coming years into Altrincham to maximise all the opportunities that will come from a fast-changing IT landscape and market sector.”

Altrincham provides an excellent office base with its thriving business and social community. The renowned Altrincham Food Market and Market House is an ideal place to head for lunch with colleagues or clients with a variety of freshly produced food on offer.

Popular local eateries include Gran T’s Coffee House, Toast, Urban Burger and The Old Post Rooms and the main shopping centre Stamford Quarter is a just a 4 minute walk away from Charter House.

Dean Richards, Leasing Director for Orbit Developments, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Aquarium Software into Charter House to support their expansion. It’s a great location in a thriving market town with all the facilities and local amenities close by to serve a growing employee base. We wish them every success.”
