RSPCA Sheffield Launches Appeal For Corporate Partnerships
The RSPCA Sheffield has launched an urgent appeal for corporate partnerships, as the pressure on the centre to care for sick, vulnerable and abandoned animals across the region is set to increase in the lead up to Christmas.
The branch, based in Attercliffe, is made up of a number of services, including the Sheffield Animal Centre, which rehabilitates and rehomes cats and dogs across the city; a Veterinary Clinic for the centre animals; and various charity shops around the city, which provide a vital source of income.
However, the local centre relies solely on donations and its volunteers to keep it running, and ahead of the Christmas period they are appealing to local businesses for extra support.
One local business who works alongside the charity is Big Yellow Group in Sheffield, with Big Yellow Sheffield Hillsborough and Armadillo Sheffield Parkway providing free storage space for the charity across both sites.
Big Yellow Self Storage has gifted RSPCA Sheffield with 350sq ft of storage space across two storage units, which it uses to keep extra stock for its charity shops, and the centre’s equipment.
Diana Radford, Operations Director at the RSPCA Sheffield said: “Corporate sponsorships are vital for our animal centre as we have to generate all of our own operating costs, so any extra help goes a long way.
“Big Yellow Self Storage in Sheffield is just one of the many great local businesses that support us – in Big Yellow Self Storages case, offering us two free units to keep our stock in freed up money that would have otherwise had to go on rent. Instead, this money can go towards the animals in the centre.
“The lead up to Christmas is particularly busy for us, so we really appreciate any help we can get. We’d encourage any businesses in Sheffield who are able to support us, even in the smallest of ways, to get in touch.”
Sarah Travis, The Store Manager of the Armadillo Sheffield Parkway along with Ed Taylor, The Store Manager of the Big Yellow Sheffield Hillsborough facility said: “We’re all huge animal lovers across the 4 stores that Big Yellow Group have across Sheffield, so to be able to help out the RSPCA Sheffield centre by gifting them two free units was something we were more than happy to do.
“We think it’s really important that local business support charities in their regions – a small act of kindness can go a long way.”
Business who may wish to support RSPCA Sheffield via donations, gifts in kind or time should contact the centre.
