Plans for Scarborough multiplex cinema approved
An application for a six-screen multiplex cinema in Scarborough has been approved.
Scarborough Borough Council has approved an application from the Harris Partnership for the cinema in the town’s North Bay, on the former site of the Atlantis Water Park, which is due to open in summer 2021.
The scheme will feature a multiplex cinema, 53 apartments, five restaurants, four shops, a sky bar, a gym and car parking.
James Richmond, group director at The Harris Partnership - the principal designers, said: “It’s fantastic to see this development start to come to fruition after enduring a couple of setbacks.
“At The Harris Partnership, we have a long tradition of creating schemes which benefit the local community and this multiplex cinema will provide much needed leisure services for the town.”
The Harris Partnership’s portfolio also includes residential home schemes in Paignton, Devon plus retail parks in Teesside, Shrewsbury and Warrington.
