Mike Harris, Grandfather of Fintech Appointed as Dashly Chairman
Mike Harris, the Grandfather of fintech steps back into the banking arena after nearly a decade.
Harris, the biggest name in technology and banking globally during the 2000s, founded First Direct, Prudential Banking Plc and its successor, Egg - which was the world’s largest internet bank under his direction.
Harris also co-founded the semantic web company Garlik, acquired by Experian in 2011. Garlik was the only company in the world to have the inventor of the internet, Tim Berners-Lee, on its advisory board.
Ross Boyd, Founder, Dashly, added: “Mike is one of the most respected names in financial services and his understanding of the way the mortgage industry is being changed by technology is second to none. He immediately got what Dashly is all about and to have him onboard as chairman is a massive boost to everyone involved.
“We plan to change the way mortgages are created, marketed and, crucially, advised on, and as our technology is rolled out to the UK broker community in 2020 there’s no doubt that Mike will give us vital guidance and direction.”
