Yorkshire firm first to launch new cyber security service
A Yorkshire cyber security specialist aims to revolutionise the market by making 24-hour monitoring accessible to businesses of all sizes for the first time. Brigantia, which is based in Ripon, has become the first in the UK to sign a distribution agreement with bluedog Security Monitoring, which has developed an innovative model that slashes the cost of monitoring services. Established in 1996 by Iain Shaw, Brigantia is an independent value-added managed services distributor providing a comprehensive range of cybersecurity solutions alongside its own secure, enterprise-class data communications and cloud services. The bluedog system uses artificial intelligence to spot unusual activity on a company’s network. It then alerts bluedog’s security operations centre, where a highly trained team analyses the activity and can respond if required. The service detects both external and internal threats which bypass traditional endpoint security and firewalls. It not only offers enhanced security and rapid response to incidents, but also helps companies comply with cybersecurity standards. Brigantia founder and commercial director Iain Shaw said: “It’s time for business to take their cybersecurity to the next level. bluedog gives them 24/7 access to a team of cyber experts for less than the cost of a part-time staff member. “We are looking forward to working closely with the dynamic team at bluedog as we see this monitoring service as adding another important layer to our cybersecurity offering.” Colin Darbyshire of London-based bluedog added: “We are delighted to agree this partnership with Brigantia, which is an established specialist security distributor with a wealth of expertise.”
