Essential healthcare celebrates a very health year in business
Leading support surfaces specialists Essential Healthcare Solutions, part of the Essential Group of Companies, is celebrating the end of a successful 2019 after exceeding expectations and increasing its turnover by 32%. The Leeds-based business is flourishing thanks to new contract wins across the UK country, its long-term partnerships with the NHS, expansion into new regions and retention of over 90% of its existing contracts.
Essential provides high level Pressure Area Care surface technologies and supporting Services to the NHS, and runs contracts for the largest national Care Home and Specialist Care Groups across the UK. It now operates with over 60 NHS Trusts across the country, having secured 23 new NHS contracts in the last year alone.
This fast and controlled growth follows Essentials new business strategy and direction which has seen the business target the NHS not only with its support surfaces but also its Audit, Service and Repair of medical equipment and Rental, Cleaning and Decontamination offerings.
This year Essential has finished an investment of £3.2 million into its Head Office facility which will enable the business to grow its capacity from 2,000 decontaminations to 6,000 decontaminations per week at its state of the art cleaning and decontamination facility. This new facility will also be used as a customer experience center, featuring a product showcase suite, training and education suite. 2020 will also see further expansion of the business and the opening of new facilities across the UK including a further two Service and Distribution centres in the North West and South. Other growth milestones include key appointments across the business and the creation of eight new jobs taking the number of employees to 55.
Thomas Owens, Managing Director of Essential Group of Companies, commented; “This has been an exceptional year for Essential. I am incredibly proud of the entire team, who have worked tirelessly to secure new contracts, deliver great service and who have helped to make us one of the leading healthcare businesses in the UK. The business is not only growing but flourishing locally and on a national basis.”
“We are committed to developing and delivering innovative products to support the NHS and other healthcare providers, enabling them to provide the best support to patients, and 2020 is set to be another pivotal year for Essential. We have more new and innovative products in the pipeline, will be opening the doors to our new decontamination facility and will be further extending our reach across the UK.”
