On The Twelfth Day Of Business: The Newcastle entrepreneur drumming to the sound of success
The 12th day of business at Bdaily has finally arrived which can only mean one thing… Santa is shooting down our chimneys tonight in preparation for the ‘Big Day’.
And what has our true love gifted us on Christmas Eve, you ask? It can only be 12 drummers drumming.
With this in mind, we thought a music venue or company specialising in gigs would be a good shout for this festive musical slot.
Newcastle-based SSD Concerts’ Steve Davis has had a successful 2019 and is looking forward to the new year.
This year saw SSD Concerts take on more staff, having shot up to 40 employees since it began eight years in 2011.
In terms of the future, Steve has said that he would love to work with frontmen such as Paul McCartney and Liam Gallagher for SSD Concerts… Watch this space, eh? But going back to reality, he plans to make Newcastle’s This Is Tomorrow festival a “national brand”.
And it seems that Steve has no plans of moving despite how heavily the company relies on its growing position in the capital: “The industry is very London centric and I’d say we are one of, if not the, fastest growing independent promoters in the country…
“It’s amazing to see it flourish and remain based in the North East.”
