Cash Converters customers help raise an incredible £26,000 for children’s charity

Cash Converters customers across England have helped raise an impressive £26,000 for national children’s charity, Dreams Come True, through an in-store scratch card offer across 42 selected stores.

Funds raised will now provide dream holidays and equipment for young people living with serious and life-limiting conditions across the UK. Over the last 30 years, the charity has fulfilled dreams for more than 6,000 children in the UK.

During the campaign scratch card tickets were available at £2 each, and this month Tracey McDermott from Hayes was announced as the lucky winner of the top prize.

Tracey and her family have won a luxury stay at Florida’s Regal Oaks Resort for up to six people in an extravagant three-bedroom house. The townhouse is a short distance away from world-famous attractions including Disney World, Universal Studios and Legoland, with Tracey now planning a trip for next year to celebrate her son’s birthday.

John Murphy, Capital Cash’s Operations Director for the Cash Converter’s Hayes store, said: “We’re thrilled that our generous customers have helped us raise such a fantastic amount for Dreams Come True. They’re a wonderful charity that does so much for families impacted by life-limiting conditions.

“It’s great to see our customers being rewarded for their generosity and winning such exciting prizes. Presenting Tracey with her Florida stay was a particular highlight and really shows that kindness and charity goes a long way. A £2 scratch card has now won her family a fantastic trip that they’ll hopefully love and remember forever.

“The whole campaign has made a real impact on those involved and we’re very proud to contribute towards the life-changing work Dreams Come True makes happen every day.”

Since partnering with Dreams Come True fourteen years ago, Cash Converters employees and stores nationwide have raised more than £390,000 and helped 168 children.

Martin Neal, Head of Challenges and Events for Dreams Come True, added: “Once again, we’d like to thank the Cash Converters staff and customers for their continued backing and generosity. Over the past 14 years, they’ve played an incredibly significant role in enriching the lives of families all across the UK and we’re very grateful for their efforts.

“As a charity, it’s wonderful to get such a significant cash injection and means we can now make more dreams come true for those we support. Each dream is unique and £26,000 will help towards allowing our highly experienced team to ensure every child has an unforgettable experience fulfilling their dream, with long-lasting memories to share with families, loved ones and friends.”
