Housebuilder prepares for busiest time of year

While most of us are calming down after the Christmas chaos, staff at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes in Bristol are gearing up for their busiest time of the year.

The five star housebuilders have revealed that the fortnight after Christmas is their most action-packed time of the year – with eager househunters using the downtime and reflection of the festive season to hit their computers and search for a new home for the New Year.

A huge spike in website visits was seen after Boxing Day in 2018, which has become an annual trend. It was followed by another surge in the first week of January, when enquiries doubled compared to early December.

Louise Ware, sales director for David Wilson Homes, said: “Christmas and New Year is fast becoming our busiest period for enquiries, so we prepare to meet this demand by making sure we’re very much open for business. As well as online enquiries we also see an increase in visits to our sites so potential buyers are free to visit us once they’ve had a browse online.”

Andrea Pilgrim, sales director for Barratt Homes, said: “We inevitably spend more time at home at Christmas than any other time of year, and the New Year is always a time for people to assess where they are now and consider what changes they want to make in the year ahead. It seems that this period leads a great many people to make the decision to move, and to start the new year with a new home.”

The housebuilders are bringing new homes to Bristol through Barratt Homes’ and David Wilson Homes’ Ladden Garden Village and Barratt Homes’ and David Wilson Homes’ Park Farm.
