Top Marks for Energy Assets Utilities

Energy Assets Utilities (EAU), one of Britain’s leading utility network construction companies, has received a 100% pass mark in its latest assessment by audit specialists Achilles under the UVDB Verify programme.

The assessment, covering safety, health, environment, quality management and corporate social responsibility, provides utilities with independent and verifiable evidence linked to critical areas of performance.

EAU Safety, Health & Environment Manager, Paul Rhodes, says the Achilles process is complementary to the company’s ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 accreditations, and is an important benchmark.

“This process isn’t just a tick in the box - it is rigorous and we use it to measure ourselves in areas that we know are a key focus for our customers, such as health and safety and environmental performance,” says Paul. “We have always achieved high scores, but this was the first time we had received a 100% mark across all metrics and it is another indicator that our commitment to continuous improvement is delivering value to our customers, both in the office and in the field.”

The most recent Achilles assessment focused on EAU’s Birstall and Northampton sites. “We encourage the auditors to select the projects they wish to assess so that we can be sure that everyone is working to the same standards,” said Paul.

Achilles UVDB Verify is used by utility companies as a pre-qualification system to drive the highest possible standards in the supply chain.
