Blacks Solicitors raises over £12,000 for Leeds Mind

Leeds-based Blacks Solicitors is celebrating after raising over £12,000 for its charity of the year, Leeds Mind.

The team arranged a series of events throughout last year to raise money for the Leeds-based mental health charity, including a bake sale and tombola, 30km walk, bingo night, rowathon and Christmas jumper day.

The funds raised by Blacks will ensure Leeds Mind can continue to support Leeds-residents facing mental health difficulties. Services that will benefit from the funds include counselling, employment support and suicide bereavement training.

Charli Brunning, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Leeds Mind, commented: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Blacks for supporting Leeds Mind throughout 2019 and raising such a significant amount.

“We’ve had an incredible year of fundraising events and the monies raised will go a long way to enabling our support services throughout the city to continue, and allow us to continue supporting the people of Leeds who need it most. We wish the team at Blacks all the best in their future fundraising endeavours and look forward to seeing their 2020 activities.”

The Firm is grateful for the support of everyone involved in raising the funds which surpassed the amount donated in 2019 of £10,000 for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and other Leeds-based charities.

Nick Dyson, Partner and member of the CSR team at Blacks, said: “We’re so proud of the funds we’ve raised to support such a well-known and deserving charity. The work Leeds Mind does benefits huge numbers of people in communities across the city.

“We’ve had a brilliant time planning and taking part in the fundraising events throughout the year. They’re a great way to get everyone together in a non-work setting and involved in our CSR activity. Personally, I think the 30km walk in the summer was a huge highlight as it was a little different to our other annual events and so many people took part.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how Leeds Mind will use the funds we’ve raised, and looking ahead to 2020 and the CSR activity we’ll be arranging.”

The Firm plans to continue its fundraising efforts in 2020, and will announce its main charity partner soon.
